Forgiveness and Reconciliation

Sermon Notes

Forgiveness is not the absence of a wound; it is the decision to release the debt that was owed to you.

Peter asked the Lord how often he should forgive his brother, and Jesus answered, not seven times, but seventy times seven. Forgiveness is not an option for the believer; it is a commandment, and it is the very heart of the gospel.

We have been forgiven a debt we could never pay, and in response we are called to forgive those who sin against us. When we withhold forgiveness, we imprison ourselves in bitterness while the offender walks free.

Reconciliation goes beyond the exchange of words; it is the restoration of relationship. It begins at the cross, where God reconciled the world to Himself in Christ, not imputing their trespasses unto them.

Let go of the offense, release the debt, and walk in the freedom that forgiveness brings. Your deliverance is tied to the release of others.
