Walking in Forgiveness
Our Father taught us to pray, 'Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.' In the economy of the kingdom, the measure we use toward others is the measure that is used toward us.
Unforgiveness is a prison of our own making. It keeps us bound to the one who hurt us, poisoning our joy and hindering our prayers. But forgiveness is the key that sets the captive free.
To forgive is not to pretend the offence did not happen, nor to excuse the wrong. It is to release the offender to God, the only true Judge, and to refuse to hold the debt ourselves.
Because Christ has forgiven us all, we are empowered to forgive one another. Walk in the liberty of forgiveness and let the peace of God rule in your heart.
