A Living Hope
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith. Peter declares that God, according to His abundant mercy, has begotten us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
This hope is not a vain hope or a fading wish; it is a living hope. It is alive because its source is alive. Jesus is risen, He is alive for evermore, and in Him every promise of God is yea and amen.
When the circumstances of life press in and despair seeks to overtake the soul, the believer lifts up his eyes to the risen Lord and remembers that the tomb is empty.
Hold fast to this living hope. It is an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, entering into that which is within the veil, where our forerunner has gone before us.
